PMango features controlled access policies. This makes possible to organize users in groups that share the same PMango server without interfering. For instance, the server at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Pisa provides support to several groups of students in Pisa and in Florence. Each student has visibility only on the projects of his/her group, while teachers of the two universities have visibility on all the groups of their course. The same server provides also accounts for a group of dummy users for demo purposes.
The demo users. The set of demo users makes possible to experiment with the different sets of capabilities that is possible to assign to a user in a default installation of PMango:
The set of demo users comprehends:
They belong to their own group. Logging as them makes possible to create projects (as theboss, of course) and to play other characters to have a look at PMango from different user perspectives.
Accessing the demo. It is possible to log as one of the demo users by accessing the PMango login page. The account names are as they are typed above. To receive passwords please contact Giovanni A. Cignoni: we have only one server and we need to maintain a little of control on it.
Being the demo group shared, logging as one of the demo users gives access to several already existent projects:
some of them are good examples of project management, some are not, we are not responsible.
If you like to experiment, we kindly ask to create your own project and not to modify the ones that you
already find there.
Being the server used by students, don't surprize if sometimes you find it quite busy.
As a last recommendation, consider that sometimes we need to clean the demo group.
Have fun with PMango!
